What is Work Camp?

A Work Camp is a voluntary coming together of people to accomplish a task us usually involving into make new roads , gardening school campus. Purifies drinking water . Constructs tribal house in low price health & sanitation, Agriculutre, Plantation, Education and other community work . We work all the activities by the students and volunteers, we use their physical and mental power for the betterment of the programme. We do the above work for upliftment of the tribal people who are peace lovers lovers of nature faithful and humble. In many program local villagers aand volunters will work with International volunteers. In the workcamp 10 - 15 International volunters from different countries will work and stay together.

What other extra activities are involve?

Cultural Programms, visiting tribal villages & discussion village meetings, youth treaking, visit weekly tribal market,  food exchange.

Cultural Program: - Tribal Drama/tribal Dance/Song programe. Interested Participat may take part in tribal Drama/Dance /Song

Visiting tribal Villages & Discuss:- At the time of students & volunteers visit to tribal villages a discussion would made regarding their cultural affiars this discussion the student and volunteers would know how the tribal people celebrating different festivals in their local areas. also they know their traditions(we have translators for the betterUnderstand of the volunters and students.

Village meeting: Discussion about the problem & solution of tribal people (We need volunteers & students suggestion for the betterment of the tribal people)

Visit weekly tribal market: The sight of the weekly tribal market is very attractive. The tribals meet one anothe in weelky market are a week. The tribals cloths, tribal handicrafts item(Dokora) jungle goods , and other things are bought and sold in the market the tribals buy their needy good s in the market for a week

Food exchange: All the participants will prepare the food of their areas and introduce the same among the partifipants.

What Cost involves ?

Surti -India is non-Profit organisation motivated for the community development . We don't get funding governmetn and other source.We expect volunteers to arrange their own air ticket. But to transport the volunteer from Bhubaneswar to working area to mangage the housing and food ing to organize the extra Recreational activities for volunteer like local cultural program for work camps we need us$ 100 per person for 9 days us$ 150 for 15 days and us$ 180 for 21 days.

TRANSPORTATION; ACCOMMODATION & FOOD

We offer Indian foods two meals two tifin two coffie per a day included other differnet cultural food. Housing arrangement for volunteer are generally arranged in colaboration with local partner. We arrange different room for girl and boy and we provide a bed.

What materials to bring?

For work you will need shorts Jeans work shoes for everyday use you will need sleeping bag, toilet articles, towel, Bring any prescription medications you need and an extra pair of glass Be prepares to share of glasses be prepared to share of yourself with others. Bring postcards of your town and pictures of your family. Bring a song you can sing and teach to other. Musical instruments always welcome.We suggest Volunteer to learn this below basic word of greetings.

Who Supervise the Volunteers?

Camp - Co-ordinator of SURTI stays with the volunteers duing whole period of the work camp he will assist the volunteers to slove the language problem and to better understand the , local culture religion, society , life style. International volunteers lives and works in a tribal setting. Where volunteer can engage with the villagers share experience, understand their culture.

When can one come?

Watch our work camp -2000/2001. there is a informationon work place and arrival . After receiving your application form . We will send you conformation letters. your application form as well as conformation letter is required to reach us one month before arrival.

How do I Register :

First Registration:

Refer our work camp 2000 /2001 fill up the form and send to our International partner or Head office for first Registration

Second Registration.

After arrival in Bhubaneswar there will be second registration in our office on the first day of the camp and deposit the camp cost
